This is a pivotal role designed for a commercially-minded procurement professional who thrives on building robust supply chains and delivering project excellence.
The Role You will take full ownership of the subcontract lifecycle—from pre-tender appraisals and contract awards to post-contract performance reviews. Acting as a bridge between estimating and site teams, you’ll ensure every project is backed by high-quality, cost-effective, and reliable subcontractors.
Key Responsibilities
- End-to-End Management: Lead the subcontract supply chain from initial tender to final performance review.
- Strategic Collaboration: Work closely with Estimating, Commercial, and Construction teams to align with project budgets and timelines.
- Relationship Management: Cultivate a high-performing network of new and existing subcontractors.
- Problem Solving: Proactively resolve supply chain disruptions, quality issues, or material shortages.
- Cost Optimisation: Identify and implement waste-reduction strategies to boost profitability.
Your Profile
- Proven experience in Subcontract Buying (Construction industry preferred).
- A sharp commercial mindset with a knack for negotiation.
- Strong technical understanding of construction materials and industry standards.
- Proficiency in procurement software and the MS Office suite
